Park Safety
Ride Smart in Shawnee Mountain’s Terrain Parks Terrain parks are a place to try new things, build confidence, and have fun with other skiers and snowboarders. Whether you’re working up to your first box or planning your next run through the park, a little preparation makes the experience better for everyone. Start small. Choose features that match your ability and work your way up. If you’re new to the park, Shawnee Mountain’s Country Club Incubator Park is a place to build your skills before heading into Delaware Park. Look before you drop. Take a warm-up run to check the features, read posted signs, and make sure the landing is clear. Features and snow conditions can change throughout the day, so check again even if you’ve ridden the park before. Make a plan for each feature. Think about your approach, speed, takeoff, and landing before you go. Know your limits, and skip a feature if you aren’t comfortable with it. Respect other riders. Wait your turn, call your start, and allow only one person on a feature at a time. Once you land, move out of the landing area promptly. Follow all signs and stay off closed features. The best park sessions are the ones where everyone has room to progress. Start small, pay attention, and look out for each other. We’ll see you out there!
